Josephine Sylvia (Grivet) Cheek

Josephine Cheek (101) of Clinton, Indiana passed away at 12:52 PM, February 10, 2024, at Clinton Gardens.  Born September 22, 1922, in Easytown, Indiana to John and Anna Chiado Grivet.  She was a retired inspector for C.B.S in Terre Haute.   She married Taft Cheek on April 19, 1947.  She was preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters: Margaret Simpson and Catherine Van Asdall.  Mrs. Cheek is survived by 3 nieces: Bert Rayce of Clinton, Indiana, Barbara Vitaniemi of Warsaw, Indiana and Patty Newlin of Nineveh, Indiana. Nephew; Richard Simpson of California.   Great nieces: Barbara Shepard, Ann Marie Mangas, and Jennifer Simson Matthews.  Great nephews: Brad Rayce, Tom Rayce, Jon Vitaniemi, Kenny Newlin,  Dave Newlin, Rick and Sean Simpson .  Several great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at Giovanini Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, February 13, 2024, with Pastor Terry Jeffers officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.  Memorial contributions can be made to Parke-Vermillion Humane Society.
