George Vrzina (76) of Clinton passed away at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, August 11, 2026, at 6:10 PM with his family by his side. Born June 1, 1950, in South Bend Indiana to George Vrzina and Mildred Duberneck Vrzina. George was self-employed carpet installer and was known for his excellent work. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church – Clinton, Knights of Columbus #9441 – Clinton Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame (2014), MCM Band, CHS Band Old Silo Band and other bands. George was a U.S. Veteran serving in Viet Nam. He married Carolyn Hopper on July 21, 1972.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Christine Runyan (February 28, 2018, sister; Tegwith Burch (July 21, 2026), sister; Patty Evans (May 13, 2017).
George is survived by his wife, Carolyn, grandson, Gage Lehman of Clinton, granddaughter; Montana Pope of Clinton, brother; Dean (Brenda) Vrzina of Clinton, his two sisters; Connie (Dave) Peters of California and Barbara (Steve) Machesky of Hawaii. Brother-in-law; Tom Evans of California and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 18, 2026, at Giovanni Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Services will be at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
