John Stephen Twigg

Clinton, Ind. -- John Stephen Twigg, 66, long-time resident of Clinton, Ind. and formerly of Paris, Ill., passed away on August 23, 2025, at home. He was the husband of the late Nelda Jolene “Jo” (Kelsheimer) Twigg.

Born April 29, 1959, in Paris, Ill., he was the son of the late Leonard and the late Ruth (Melton) Twigg. John graduated from Paris High School in 1977, first working at Paris Donut Shop, then the Zenith factory, and afterwards was a driver for North American Van Lines before settling in Clinton. He was an employee of Dairy Queen for over 35 years. John enjoyed automobiles, particularly muscle cars and NASCAR racing. He also loved his pet cats and dogs and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Member of Knights of Columbus – All Saint’s Council 9441 – Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 41 years, Jo Twigg; two brothers, Donald and Charles and a sister, Susan.

Survivors include an aunt Barbara (Twigg) Blagg of Charleston, Ill.; a sister, Mary (Kenneth) Lumsdon of Princeton, Ind.; two brothers, Thomas (Teresa) Twigg of Thomasboro, Ill. and Patrick (Mary Margaret) Twigg of Champaign, Ill.; two nieces Makenzie (Austin) Fox of Minnesota and Sabrina (Roudy) Beasley of Paris, Ill.; and one nephew Matthew (Laura) Twigg of Charleston, Ill. and a large extended family of many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A prayer service will be conducted at Giovanini Funeral Home on August 28, 2025, at 10:45 AM at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 28, 2025, with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the funeral home with Rosary at 7:00 PM.
