Marlene "Honey" Wilson

Marlene Joyce “Honey” Wilson of Clinton passed away at home on Friday,

October 3, 2025 at 2:28 p.m.

Honey was born on August 16, 1936 in Universal, the third of four children of

Clem and Thelma Dalton Lawson. She attended Universal School and graduated

from Clinton High School with the class of 1954. She married Russell F. “Rusty”

Wilson who preceded her in death on September 9, 2025, after 71 years of

marriage.

Upon raising their two children to school age, Honey attended Indiana State

University where she earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. She

began her teaching career at Central Elementary School in Clinton and taught

third grade there for 27 years until her retirement in 1994.

She spent her retirement years traveling with Rusty, enjoying their winter home

in Daytona Beach, FL, playing bridge and watching NBA basketball.

Honey is survived by her two children, R. Tom (Nancy) Wilson, and Terri (Jeff)

Williamson, sister, Charlotte (William) Bandi of Pittsburgh,PA, sisters-in-law

Dorothy Felix of Broken Arrow, OK, and Mary F. Lawson, Chevy Chase, MD,

granddaughters Natalie (Rolando) DeLeon of San Antonio, TX and Amanda (Josh)

DeWitt of Clinton, step-grandsons David and Scott Filchak of Clinton, great-

grandchildren Emma and Madeline DeWitt and Davin Filchak of Clinton, and

Cheyanne and Cassidy DeLeon of San Antonio, and many cousins, nieces, and

nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, from 4-8 p.m. at Giovanini Funeral Home in

Clinton, with Rosary at 7:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October

8, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Clinton, with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn

Cemetery.

The family suggests donations be made to Sacred Heart Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
