Martha Garrett (80) of West Terre Haute passed away at 6:15 AM, March 30, 2022, at Union Hospital _ Terre Haute. Born December 15, 1941, in Terre Haute to Rufus Surber and Doris McDaniel Surber. She was married to James Anthony Garrett Jr. June 17, 1965. She was a member of the Terre Haute Bowling Hall of Fame and a board member of Women’s Bowling Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter; Adele Pace, grandson; Tony Gilbert, brother; James W. Surber and a sister; Rhonda Oachs
Survived by her daughter; Machelle (J.C.) Dressler of West Terre Haute, her sons; Rufus (Darla) Pace of West Terre Haute, and John “Jack” (Jennifer) Garrett of West Terre Haute.
Grandchildren; Rufus Jr., Amber (Corey), Levi, T.J. (Torie), Zac, Catherine (John T.), John Jr., and Kierra, special niece; Jessica (Tony) Cox and 6 great grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial at a later date.
