Meleta Grace Hux

Meleta Grace Hux, 90, of Universal, IN peacefully joined her husband for their 73rd Wedding Anniversary on November 15, 2025, at 7:30 AM after a brief stay at Vermillion Convalescent Center. Meleta was born in Shepardsville, IN on October 9, 1935, to Claude Gose and Nora Alkire-Gose. In November 1952, she married the love of her life, Jackie L. Hux Sr. They shared two sons and lived life to their fullest. Grace enjoyed running her sons to ball practices and camping. As the sons grew older and had families, Grace enjoyed playing games, baking, sleepovers and joking with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jackie Hux Sr., Her son Jackie Hux Jr., Sisters, Hazel Tomastic and Lella Boatman, brothers, Jim, Morris and Avery Gose.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Diann) Hux of Shepardsville, IN, special Daughter-in-law Clida (Jim) Perry of Clinton, IN. 6 Grandchildren, Heather (Jerry (JJ)) Steadman, Wade Hux, Marcy (Michael) Walton, Alexis Hux, Sunny Mack and Shelby Clinkenbeard. 9 Great Grandchildren, Kierstin (Isaiah), Sara, and Jackie Steadman, Benjamin Hux, Gage and Gracie Cooke, Brooklyn Ross, Mikie and Reagan Walton. 1 Great- Great Grandchild, Nova Coppock and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Grace have been arranged for Thursday, November 20, 2025, with a visitation at 11am to 1pm with funeral service at 1pm at Giovanini Funeral Home in Clinton with Pastor Duane Caperton officiating. Graveside services to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton, IN. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
