Michael V. Iacoli (78) of Clinton passed away at 6:28 AM, September 6, 2026. Born July 24, 1948, in Clinton to Valentino and Mary Skorich Iacoli. He was a self-employed carpenter and building contractor. A member of Clinton Breakfast Optimist Club (best hot dog cooker at the soccer concession stand). For many years he was the coordinator for Immigrant Square Flag Display and maintenance helper at Immigrant Square for Ferruccio and Mary Fornero. Member of the Unsafe Building Committee for Clinton. He married Rosemary Nagy on May 31, 1970. Mike fought valiantly for 3 years, 10 months and 28 days. He never gave up. His body just gave out.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts; Jennie Ferrari, Sophie Venardi and Mildred Allen. Uncles; Emilio, Gaetano, Bruno and Elmer Iacoli and Ernie Gillio, Joe, Eli, Mich and Stevie Skorich. His mother in-law; Charlotte Nagy Goldman.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rosemary. One son; Alex (Tamra) Iacoli of Byron, Illinois. Daughter; Monica (Cade) Spires of Clinton, Indiana. Grandsons; Alston and Tanner Spires both of Clinton. Sisters – in- law; Peggy May, Susan Pugh, Janice Thompson, and Denise Casper. Brother-in-law; Martin Nagy. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Very special friend; Sister Betty S.P. Chaplin at Hux Cancer Center. The boys who were more like extra grandsons. They would show up and make him smile and laugh and tell him all their big plans and stories.
A celebration of life will be held at the Jack Gilfoy Community Center, 301 S. Main Street, Clinton, at 3:00 PM, September 27, 2026.
Memorial contributions can be made to Clinton Breakfast Optimist Club, Clinton Public Library or Hux Cancer Center – Terre Haute. Envelopes will be available at the celebration of life.
