Bettie Louise Coonce (87) of St. Bernice, Indiana passed away at 2:00 AM, December 7, 2021, at Horizon Health in Paris, Illinois.   Born November 8, 1934, to Franklin Hixon and Dorthea Fulk Hixon in Clinton, Indiana.   She married Markus Coonce September 27, 1952.  She was a retired nurse’s aide, physical therapist and activities director for the former Clinton Nursing Home and Heritage House.  She was a member of Sugar Grove Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Markus F. Coonce and one sister Paula Holdaway.   Survived by one daughter; Terri Potter of St. Bernice, IN, and one son; Anthony “Tony” F. and his wife Terri “T.J.” Coonce of Clinton, IN. Foster sons; Jim (Pam) McDonald and Jim Wallace both of St. Bernice, IN.  Ten grandchildren; Tammy Spivey, Kenna Pearman, Justin McDonald, Mackenzie Clough, Brea Wright, Tony Coonce Jr., Chris Bridges, Brittani Hadley, Larry Barbour and Bronson Moody.  Sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  Her brother-in-law; Jerome Coonce of Lyons, GA and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at Sugar Grove Methodist Church at 2:00 PM EST with Pastor Bill Duke officiating.   Visitation will be held at Sugar Grove Methodist Church 1:00 PM EST until service time at 2:00 PM EST.   Memorial contributions can be made to Sugar Grove Methodist Church.
