George R. P. Stevenson Jr. “Paul” of Rosedale, Indiana, 80, passed away at 8:12 PM, June 2, 2021, at Clinton Gardens in Clinton, Indiana.   Born February 10, 1941, in Sandcut, Indiana to George R. P. Stevenson Sr. and Grace D. Hamilton Stevenson.   He married Sandra Sue Davis “Cindy” on May 28, 1960.

Paul was a devoted husband of 61 years. His love and passion for Cindy was obvious to

all. Paul was determined and able to accomplish any task he set his mind to, making

many accomplishments throughout his life. Paul entered active duty in the United States

Airforce in December of 1960 and attended technical training at Lowry Airforce Base

Colorado to become a Weapons Mechanic. He was then stationed at Minot Airforce

Base North Dakota until his honorable discharge in December of 1964. Following the

Air Force, he worked at the Terre Haute Wabash Fiber Box Company for 5 years until he

joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union (Local #20, Terre Haute, Indiana). He worked in

the Sheet Metal Industry for 49 years before retiring in 2003. He also had a small farm

for several years in Rosedale, Indiana before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado

where he purchased, renovated, and operated two motels. Eventually he returned to

Rosedale, Indiana where he made his permanent residence. He was adventurous as he

enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. In their late 60’s and early 70’s, Paul

and Cindy toured the United States on their motorcycles, attended Sturgis Bike Rally

Twice, and visited several National Parks. He was respected in his community. He was a

proud member of the American Legion Post 290 in Rosedale, Indiana. Everybody knew

him as a persistent man that you did not cross, and he was loved by all. He will be greatly

missed by his family and friends.

There will be a graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery at 1pm on June 12 th , 2021 and a

celebration of life following the service at Rosedale American Legion.

His survivors include his wife, Sandra Stevenson of Rosedale, Indiana

2 Daughters; April (Jim) Bowans (Mission, Tx), Colleen (Rick) Allen (Terre Haute, IN),

1 Son; Troy (Tona) Stevenson of Minot, North Dakota

7 Grand Children; Jennifer Carrick, Shawn Bennett, Jessica Stevenson, Ryan Orr, Dale

Meeker, Ashley Stevenson, Justin Stevenson

Graveside services will be conducted June 12, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale, Indiana with Military Rites

Officiating; Bill Felker

A celebration of life will be held at Rosedale American Legion where a meal will be served following the committal service at the cemetery.
