John William Judson Jr.

John William Judson Jr. (76) of Tere Haute passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2022, at 6:00 AM in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Born February 21, 1946, to John William Judson Sr. and Geneva Maxine Barnes Judson.  He retired security guard from Department of Corrections in Plainfield, Indiana.   He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in West Terre Haute, Indiana. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson: Anthony Kuehn

John is survived by 4 sons; John W. Judson III of Fr. Collins, Colorado, Paul W. Judson of Terre Haute, Indiana, Robert “Bobby” (Kimberly) Judson of Terre Haute, Indiana and Steve A. (Amanda) Judson of Terre Haute, Indiana and 1 daughter; Angela Judson of Terre Haute, Indiana.  8 grandchildren; Cassandra, Richie, Camden, Lainey, Luke, Cadence, Cole, and Kya. Great grandchildren; Lorelie, Richie, Lulani, Logan, Isaiah, Makaileigh, Alakih and Amari.   

He had the utmost respect for his father and mother and so much love for his children and grandchildren.  John watched every event of his grandchildren’s that he could from high school baseball to little league to softball to cheer and gymnastics as well as any performance or awards ceremony there was.  You could always count on Papa Judson to be there.  His family will greatly miss his presence at all activities and getting to call or text him whenever they wanted or needed.  John was an avid fan of old westerns, Bonanza, and Mayberry. Once he got home, you’d find him either visiting out back with his neighbor Dave or sitting in his living room chair enjoying his Tabasco popcorn.  He was a great friend to his other buddy Dave and Mike.  After his granddaughter, Lainey, encouraged him to go to church with her when she was little, he found his church home at 1st Assembly of God in West T where he loved taking his adored granddaughter, Cadence.  Anyone that knew John knew Cadence. 

Although none of us want him to be gone, we are all so happy that he is with Our Dear Heavenly Father.

Services will be conducted August 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Giovanini Funeral Home, Clinton with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at Giovanini Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM
