Ted Lobbia Jr., 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in Franklin, Indiana, at the Compass Park Masonic Home. He was born August 18, 1936, in Edgar County, Illinois, to the late Elfrieda Martha Kramer Lobbia and Attillio Lobbia. The family moved to Detroit, Michigan, and, later, to Clinton, IN., where Ted attended Clinton High School and he graduated in 1954.
While in High School he participated in football, basketball, track, the Drama, Math and Science clubs and played clarinet in the band.
Ted served in the US Army and was stationed in Ft. McPherson, Georgia, in Washington DC, and in Augsburg Germany. While stationed in Germany, he traveled throughout Europe. He, also, played clarinet in the 24th Infantry Division Army Band and performed with the United States Navy Symphonic Band.
He was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
Ted worked at the DuPont Ammunition Depot in Newport and as an electrician for the home building industries after service. He loved riding his BMW and took many trips across the US.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Frank Lobbia, and a nephew, Marc Stuart Guerri.
He is survived by his companion and love of his life of 42 years, Mary Ann Tomlinson, her daughter Aimee Tomlinson, a sister, Deanna Lobbia Guerri (Elmer) and several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 08, at 12 PM at the Giovannini Funeral Home in Clinton, IN. Visitation will be from 10 AM until Services with Pastor Terry Jeffers Officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee with envelopes available at funeral home.
